Kickstarter Game Developer Haiku Collection
September 2nd - via: cliqist.com
It’s a bit of a tradition that whenever I interview someone for Cliqist I ask them to put together a brief haiku to describe them, their company, or their game. Since we’re celebrating the one year anniversary of Cliqist this week I figure it would be as good a time as any to look back at some of them. All the haiku’s were written by the person being interviewed, and are listed in the order in which they appeared on the site. Some are great, some not so much, but each is interesting in its own right. (Read More)

April 2nd - via: joystiq.com
Those that follow crowdfunded gaming projects know the drill: As most developers' Kickstarter deadlines draw near, they like to remind you to pledge your monetary support so their visions can come to life, enticing you to do so by offering concept art or videos. In the case of Frog Fractions developer Twinbeard, with a week left to go in its Frog Fractions 2 campaign, it opted to launch a brief adventure game called Kickstarter Simulator 2015. (Read More)

Frog Fractions 1.5: Kickstarter Simulator 2015
April 2nd - via: rockpapershotgun.com
When I first heard about Frog Fractions 2′s Kickstarter, I immediately wondered, “Can Twinbeard get more meta? Can they really?” The original game of amphibians and (not any) arithmetic went so deep down the rabbit hole that it emerged on the other side of the universe and also in another dimension, so I’ll cop to having been slightly worried. But now Twinbeard has made a game about creating a Kickstarter while running a Kickstarter for a game that won’t be called Frog Fractions 2 even though it will technically be Frog Fractions 2 and, well, I’m not very worried anymore. The game in question is called Kickstarter Simulator 2015. Its genre? FMV lightgun shooter. I’m not even joking. (Read More)

Frog Fractions 2 Kickstarter: The Nightmare Isn't Over
March 24th - via: technologytell.com
In the Year of Our Lord Twenty Hundred and Twelve, a browser game with the unassuming title of Frog Fractions quietly bestowed joy on a discrete subgroup of the gaming public like a Trojan Horse full of whimsical ninjas. Designed by Jim Crawford of Twinbeard Studios, Frog Fractions was an exquisite exercise in video game absurdity, exploiting the staid formula of educational video games to deliver a world of transcendentally clever silliness and bug pornography. Now, Crawford & Twinbeard are reaching out via Kickstarter to fund their next salvo of mathematical amphibian shenanigans, which raises the usual questions: Can Twinbeard capture lightning in a bottle twice? What will Twinbeard do with a bigger budget? Will the sequel be titled 2 Frogs, 2 Fractions? That last one is pretty unlikely. (Read More)
Jim Crawford Talks Frog Fractions 2. But Not Really
March 20th - via: cliqist.com
Have you heard about the Frog Fractions sequel currently on Kickstarter? Well it’s not. See, rather than create a straight sequel to the cult favorite Frog Fractions, Twin Beard seems to be creating a sequel to the bizarre experience. Does that make sense? If it doesn’t then don’t worry about it, it’s not really meant to. Just play the original Frog Fractions, read our interview with Twin Beard’s own Jim Crawford, and go with the flow. (Read More)

Frog Fractions 2′s Kickstarter Exists, Is Utterly Insane
March 11th - via: rockpapershotgun.com
It is probably an exaggeration to say that Frog Fractions is the most important game of our time, which is why I’m not saying that. But goodness, it was certainly one of a kind – an Olympic-caliber swan dive into a maelstrom of churning madness. To say anything more would be to spoil it for those who haven’t peeled past its faux-”edutainment” surface layer, but I can’t recommend it enough. (Read More)
