Another Another World: The Way Arrives On Kickstarter
May 6th - via: rockpapershotgun.com
Another World made such a powerful impact on my young mind that I’m willing to overlook the trials and errors involved, preferring to remember the grace of the animation, and the sense of alienation and companionship. I’d never played anything like it and can’t think of a similar game since that has lived up to those memories. The Kickstarter for otherworldly platformer The Way doesn’t require my Delphine-branded rose-tinted glasses. Another World is a clear inspiration – just look at the shields and the alien beast if – but the video isn’t reliant on flashbacks (reference very much intended). It’s a pretty piece of sci-fi. Sci-Fi Indie Platformer Wants To Be The Next Flashback
May 6th - via: kotaku.com
This one's also inspired by Heart of Darkness and Another World--with the latter serving as inspiration for Flashback itself. You could say it's a game inspired by a game inspired by Another World. But that would sound silly. (Read More)
The Way goes out of this world, is inspired by Out of This World
May 6th - via: destructoid.com

In today's terms, games like Out of This World, Heart of Darkness, or Flashback might be described as combinations of adventure games and puzzle platformers, but even that description is missing something that defines the titles.
