Hrm... something went wrong.

Kickstarter Katchup – June 30th 2013

June 30th - via:
Last week I was at Rezzed instead of looking at Kickstarter pages but I’ve made up for it by spending most of today browsing through projects. Thoughts of Kickstarter’s purpose have been hanging in the air (on twitter and in chatrooms that I frequent) and I have been pondering how I see the site. I have backed projects knowing that I’m essentially pre-ordering something that I assume will be released and will be as expected, based on the team’s previous work and a comfortable place in a familiar genre. But I mostly back smaller projects that I want to support and to play because they are different, risky and challenging. There’s a great deal of innovation among the nostalgia. (Read More)

Void Destroyer

June 3rd - via:
After four years of development, the space combat simulator and real time strategy hybrid title, Void Destroyer, has found its way onto Kickstarter. Developer, Paul Zakrzewski, is looking for $20,000 to complete sound, music and 2D/3D art assets. At the time of this writing, it seems the project has gotten off to a good start as $6,500 has already been pledged in just a few days. Void Destroyer has all the available features to be considered a fantastic entry into the sci-fi sim arena. If you are even remotely interested in this genre, you should take a hard look at Void Destroyer. There is a late alpha demo to download from the official site. Be sure to download and install the mouse steering patch as well. You can read more information via the Kickstarter page. Please remember to use your vote on Steam Greenlight. (Read More)

Spacey Game News

May 31st - via:
Heeey guyyyyyss! Sorry about the delay with the news AGAIN! :/ It’s been a REALLY weird week. The holiday weekend REALLY kicked my ass through general lack of sleep, and I’ve really not caught up at all during the week (I love living in Los Angeles, but sometimes its temperature fluctuations can be problematic), so it’s just left me EXHAUSTED, and I’ve barely had the energy to focus on work, let alone anything else. If you’ve listened to this week’s podcast, you might notice my voice gets slurred more and more as the podcast goes on. That’s because I was just so damned tired. Thankfully I feel more awake today than I have all week (which will be ruined again this weekend ;), so I’m gonna dive in with the news, of which there’s a ton... (Read More)
