Trilobyte Games Are Raising Funds on Kickstarter for ‘The 7th Guest 3: The Collector’

November 7th - via:
Whether or not you were actually alive during the short-lived era of video infused point-and-click adventure games, utilizing early CD-Rom technology, you’ve probably heard of the most famous example: MYST. If you weren’t alive at all back during 1993 – or at the very least were far too young to be tackling something of a macabre nature – then you probably haven’t heard of MYST’s horror themed cousin: The 7th Guest. In it players ventured into the haunted mansion of the world famous toymaker – Henry Stauf – in order to discover why six people disappeared there long ago, and also why all the children who owned his wondrous creations eventually became deathly ill. (Read More)

Boo! The 7th Guest Returns

October 31st - via:
Everyone knows that Myst was a major reason people bought CD Rom drives for their computers back in the day. Dropping a few hundred bucks on a peripheral of limited use was worth it when you saw it in action. However, the other game that people upgrade for was The 7th Guest, a horror puzzle hybrid from Trilobyte. While Myst was nice looking, it lacked any sort of personality in its sterile environment. The 7th Guest, on the other hand, was an engaging story driven puzzler that while over the top at times did a great job of maintaining a certain mood, even if you were just fiddling with a mechanical puzzle. (Read More)
