Brian Fargo, the leader of the development team at InXile, says that the Kickstarter funding process for Wasteland 2 has increased pressure for the team to deliver the game as quickly as possible with a high quality level.

He tells GameReactor that, “I've never had more pressure to ship a game in my life. For sure. Kickstarter there's a lot of... I mean it's all I mean I love it. But it's very personal. You're putting yourself out there to succeed or fail for the world to see.”

The developer says that he knew that fans of his past work wanted a sequel for Wasteland, but never managed to convince a publisher that it could be a commercial success.

Using crowd funding allows InXile to create the exact experience they are interested in, with a heavy focus on writing and plenty of tactical options.

Wasteland 2 is expected to arrive in beta form in late October.
