Salt Lake City Added to the List of Curated Pages on Kickstarter

Salt Lake City Offerings on Curated PageKickstarter has continued to add to their list of vertically curated pages on their crowdfunding platform.  Over the past months we have seen several cities launching their own curated pages to focus on what their communities have to offer in the way of budding entrepreneurs and other creative projects.  Now Salt Lake City – and Mayor Ralph Becker – have their very own Kickstarter page.

While Kickstarter has always segmented by location this functionality of targeted curation aids in managing the growing avalanche of crowdfunding offerings which seem to grow exponentially by the minute.  Partnerships with Kickstarter with a local government or any group – are mutually beneficial with both sides promoting the pages and associated projects.

In the opening statement on the curated page the Mayor’s office states:

Salt Lake City is on the rise and our growing creative community is making waves far beyond the shores of the Great Salt Lake.
Mayor Becker is committed to supporting and cultivating opportunities for our inspired entrepreneurs/artists/and DIY aficionados and partnering with Kickstarter is just one of many efforts underway.

Salt Lake City SealAnd what city does not want to share cool projects and entrepreneurs within their own community – along with the rest of the world.  With all large cities already displaying a healthy portfolio of projects on Kickstarter it appears to be only a matter of time before every city does the same.
