Like it or not, the “Veronica Mars” movie Kickstarter opened a new frontier for crowdfunding, proving that film projects can raise more than microbudgets on the site, that people are willing to contribute to something that’s associated with a big corporation if it allows them to make a movie happen that they really want to see, and that celebrities have an unsurprising advantage (though not a consistent one) in this realm. And now we’re finally getting a glimpse of the results of Kristen Bell and Rob Thomas‘ $5.7 million campaign. The five-minute video below was unveiled at Comic-Con yesterday, and while it begins with behind-the-scenes interviews and clips from the 2004-2007 series, starting at the three minute mark you can find a trailer for the film with all new footage.
