It turns out we weren't the only ones impressed by Liege’s striking visuals and ambitious storyline - the indie strategy RPG hit its Kickstarter goal in a matter of a days and is now fully funded.

While John Rhee, the man behind Liege's development, hasn't announced any stretch goals just yet, he mentioned that he's reached out to both Sony and Nintendo to see about potential releases on their platforms.

Nothing's been confirmed on either front, but it's clear that Rhee has grand designs for Liege - which is the first installment in a planned trilogy of fantasy games.

Liege could be described as a blend between Final Fantasy Tactics and Game of Thrones, but there's more to it than that.

Taking a cue from Fire Emblem and, more broadly, chess, players will need to focus on positioning their units intelligently in Liege as they'll support and reinforce each other. Should a unit be left on its own, it will be vulnerable to a quick, direct attack that can drop it in one go.

In other words, all the HP and healing potions in the world won't save your troops if you plan poorly.

Liege still has 25 days left in its Kickstarter Campaign if you're looking to secure backer rewards. We'll keep you updated on Liege if a Vita or 3DS version is confirmed.
