The Buttered Tin, a sweet little bakery and cafe on the corner of Seventh and Wacouta streets in St. Paul, is now open.

The bakery’s $10,000 Kickstarter campaign was successful, and the old Blink Bonnie space now sports a homey slate-gray and butter-yellow decor.

The breakfast and lunch menu includes fun twists on breakfast classics.

We’re especially excited about the buttermilk pancakes with maple bacon butter and real maple syrup, the huevos rancheros Benedict served on corn-bread rounds and the Easter dinner sandwich, which includes scalloped potatoes, ham and Dijon on ciabatta.

Oh, and let’s not even get started on our expectations for the pastries by co-owner Alicia Hinze, formerly of Cupcake.

Chef Jason Schellin, whose resume includes stints at Smack Shack and Muffuletta, will be heading the kitchen.
