Pulitzer Prize Winner Launches Kickstarter Campaign for Father's Day

A Pulitzer Prize winner and New York Times Best Selling author Chris Rose launches his Kickstarter.com campaign to fund the long-awaited follow-up to 1 Dead in the Attic. The new book is As Not Seen on Oprah, just in time for Father's Day awards.

New Orleans, LA, June 12, 2013 --(PR.com)-- “A New Orleans credo: When life gives you lemons--make daiquiris.” - Chris Rose, 1 Dead in the Attic

Just in time for Father’s Day is a 50-page biography written for the man who has everything except a book about him and how he got it, by New York Times Bestselling author Chris Rose. A bio is the top end reward for funding Rose's Kickstarter.com project. It is a mere $10,000, and only three such opportunities are offered. Or, combine them for a larger book about dad. At the lower end of the reward scale, a $10 contribution gets profuse thanks. Rose’s personal daiquiri is the crowd-funding site for creative ventures that he’s just tapped into to underwrite his next book, As Not Seen on Oprah, the long-awaited follow-up to 1 Dead in Attic. Rose shared a Pulitzer Prize for his part in The Times-Picayune’s Hurricane Katrina coverage and is author of the resulting New York Times Bestseller 1 Dead in the Attic, embracing the collective psyche of shattered New Orleanians. He says this new book is “About New Orleans. It’s about me. It’s about me and New Orleans in the years since Katrina - about life, love and laughter, shame, disgrace and fear. It’s a collection of extraordinary stories about ordinary life, intended to inform, provoke, entertain, caution, shock, delight and maybe even astound.”

Since his 2009 buyout from the former Times Picayune daily, the former columnist Rose has done political and cultural commentaries on WVUE-TV, Fox8News, in New Orleans, written for all manner of magazines – US Weekly, People, Playboy and the Oxford American to name a few. He wrote essays for NPR’s Morning Edition and The Lehrer NewsHour on PBS. Then a documentary about Louisiana music for Louisiana Public Broadcasting, co-wrote a script for HBO’s “Treme” and co-wrote two songs with Dr. John for his Grammy-winning CD, “The City that Care Forgot.”
