Attention Starkid fans! Team Starkid’s Joey Richter will be reprising
his role as Officer Petey (for the fourth time) in this week’s episode
of Disney Channel’s Jessie.  The episode entitled Pain in the Rear
Window is set to air this Friday, March 1 at 8pm eastern.  According
to the Jessie Wiki (yeah, apparently that exists), here’s what goes
down:

“Luke breaks his leg in a dancing accident at the town carnival
and stays on the terrace, where he finds a mysterious man at the fair.
He enlists the help of the gang to unravel the mystery.” The episode
is a parody of the 1954 film, Rear Window.  Check out this clip to see
one of Joey’s scenes!

After many years of plotting, Team StarKid members Julia Albain, Joey Richter, Brian Rosenthal and Lauren Lopez along with Corey Lubowich have joined up to give the world ‘The Last Days of Judas Iscariot’. With this play, Julia Albain returns, in a way, back to her roots as she had directed this play years ago when they were all still doing productions for U of M’s Basement Arts back in 2008.

'The Last Days of Judas Iscariot" or Judas Redux, tells the story of a court case over the ultimate fate of Judas Iscariot. The play uses flashbacks to an imagined childhood, and lawyers who call for the testimonies of such witnesses as Mother Teresa, Caiaphas, Saint Monica, Sigmund Freud, and Satan.

Teaming up with a sassy wildebeest and a flamboyant ostrich, Khumba sets out on a daring mission across the Karoo desert to find the legendary waterhole where the first zebras got their stripes. Along the way he meets a host of colourful characters, but before he can reunite with his herd, Khumba will have to come face to face with a menacing leopard and take part in an epic battle.

You may have seen our report on Joey Richter’s upcoming project, Craig the Genie yesterday.  We are happy to report that the team over at Craig have intentions to keep fans involved every step of the way. 

In case you missed it, Craig the Genie is the brain child of childhood friends Jordan Kelley, Brandon Blanks, and Starkid’s Joey Richter. The plan is to shoot a television pilot (to be broadcast on the internet) about three slacker friends, one of which is a genie named Craig, who based on the introduction video, probably causes hilarious antics for the trio. They have launched a Kickstarter and within the first 24 hours, they have raised over 10% of their goal!

Total Recall Screenwriter Alleges Disney Plagiarized Zootopia, Files Lawsuit

According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, Gary Goldman, a screenwriter known for his work on films like Total Recall and Big Trouble in Little China is suing Disney for alleged plagiarism. According to Goldman’s lawsuit, Disney stole his idea for their 2016 smash hit Zootopia from him after they rejected his initial pitch of the film.
