Ray's the Dead Kickstarter campaign launches with Pikmin, Stubbs the Zombie influences

A Kickstarter campaign for Ragtag Studio's stealthy action puzzler Ray's The Dead launched today, seeking funds for a game heavily influenced by Pikmin and Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse.

In Ray's the Dead, which is in development for Windows PC, Mac and Linux, players take control of Ray, the leader of a zombie army. It's in development by a team of ex-Wideload Games developers who released Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse in 2005.

"Ray's the Dead is not shy about acknowledging its roots," the Kickstarter page reads. "Players will immediately appreciate the games two main inspirations, Pikmin and Stubbs the Zombie. Pikmin is a much loved and unique game, deeply adored by all three Ragtag team members. To this day Pikmin brings a breath of fresh air with its unique gameplay and simple army management. A game that emphasizes controlling a zombie army similarly to how Olimar controls his army of Pikmin simply had to be made."

You can check out the developer's Kickstarter pitch in the video above. As of this writing, the game has received $3,185 in pledges of its $75,000 goal from 41 backers with 32 days remaining.
