Booch & Brew smashes crowdfunding target

Cheshire-based Booch & Brew has smashed its crowdfunding target after securing more than 150 investors.

Founded in 2019 by friends and Kombucha enthusiasts Emma Thackray and Kenny Goodman, the company produces organic, vegan goods.

Hosted on Kickstarter, the campaign reached its original target of £10,000 in less than a day.

At the time of writing, more than £12,000 had been secured.

The funding will be used to invest in a new fermenting vessel to make the process faster and more efficient, and an eco-heating system which is better for the environment and keeps the tea warm.

Non-executive director Juliet Barratt said: "The Booch & Brew team live and breathe Kombucha and are so completely dedicated to making their products the best that they can be.

"It has been wonderful to be a part of the business' journey and to see it exceed the crowdfunding target in such a short time. The response is testament to how well-loved the brand is, and how determined people are to help small businesses thrive even in the middle of a global pandemic."

Thackray added: "We so easily could have delayed our Kickstarter campaign to next year, given the current crisis and its huge economic impact, but feedback from Kombucha fans persuaded us to push on with our mission to brew the tastiest and healthiest Booch on the planet, and the response speaks for itself.

"We are blown away by the support and generosity of our community and are excited to put our expansion plans into action in the months to come so we can make our Booch even better."
