What you need to know

  • There Is No Light is a gorgeous Action RPG (ARPG) set in a twisted world in which humans are all but extinct.
  • Players will have to battle there way through the Underworld to decide the fate of a shattered humanity.
  • To do so, you'll have to become stronger, upgrading skills and weapons as you fight through hordes of demons.
  • There Is No Light has been confirmed for a Fall 2021 release on Xbox, PC, Playstation, and Switch.

In the mood for another game that throws you into the middle of a dark, apocalyptic universe? Look no further than There Is No Light, an ARPG from HypeTrain Digital that just shattered its Kickstarter goal in a matter of days, and is now confirmed for a Fall 2021 release date. There Is No Light is set in a shattered world where catastrophic events practically wiped out all of humanity, and now the remains are forced to live alongside monsters and demons alike.

As the main character, you're tasked with taking on hordes of unfathomable horrors, including powerful bosses with unique abilities, in a variety of frankly gorgeous environments and levels. According to HypeTrain Digital, your choices matter in There Is No Light, and will ultimately decide the fate of the entire world. The question is, will you attempt to save humanity from the surrounding darkness, or are your intentions more malevolent than that?

Don't take our word for it though, There Is No Light has a full playable demo available on their Steam page that takes approximately two hours to complete, and even includes a boss fight! In the demo you'll use three of the four weapon classes, upgrade some of the skill trees, and even learn why your decisions are important with the Karma System.

There Is No Light looks beautiful, brutal, and blisteringly fast-paced, and we're all for it. The game is now set for a Fall 2021 release date for Xbox, PC, Playstation, and Switch platforms. If the game is able to meet further Kickstarter funding goals, additional content will be added to the game like new side missions, a bestiary to keep track of your discoveries with handdrawn artwork, and more.
