UK book publisher Read-Only Memory has announced that it is releasing a book which charts the history of Capcom's Street Fighter II, as told by the people who made it happen.

"The culmination of several years of research by acclaimed games writer Matt Leone, Like a Hurricane gathers together over 60 voices, spread across continents, disciplines and companies, speaking candidly on the vision, fearlessness, and bold ambition that made Street Fighter II a household name," says the book's Kickstarter page, which is looking for £50,000 to make it a reality. Over £23,000 has been raised so far.

The book is made up of exclusive interviews with the likes of series creator Takashi Nishiyama, Street Fighter planner Hiroshi Matsumoto, Street Fighter II planners Akira Nishitani and Akira Yasuda, series producer Noritaka Funamizu, U.S. sales rep Brian Duke and "dozens" of others across its 280+ pages.
