We’ve recently talked about the Ulefone Armor 9, and its upcoming arrival to Kickstarter. Well, that has just happened, the company has announced that the phone is now on Kickstarter for $429.
This is a member of Ulefone’s ‘Armor’ family, which means it’s a rugged phone. It comes with one rather special feature, the thermal imaging camera on the back.
That thermal camera on the back is the FLIR Lepton thermal imaging module. It comes with FLIR MSX technology, and it can be used for accurate temperature measurement. There are a lot of cases in which this sensor can be useful, from building repair, to pipeline inspection.
This phone has been created for “professionals and outdoor adventures”, said Ulefone. Those of you who are interested in it, can now avail ‘Early Bird’ discounts on Kickstarter.

There are six Early Bird perks available. The cheapest one will cost you $429.99, and you will get one Armor 9 handset. The second offer comes with the phone and some gifts. Those gifts include a protective case, a 180-degree rotatable back clip, and a carabiner. That version will cost you $449.99.
The third offer will set you back $459.99, and it comes with a phone and a 3-in-1 waterproof endoscope. The fourth offer costs $479.99, and on top of what is offered in the third offer, you also get a protective case.
The fifth offer gets you five Ulefone Armor 9 units from Kickstarter, and it costs $2,149.99. The last option gets you 10 units of the phone, and it costs $4,199.99.
This smartphone is IP68/IP69K certified for water and dust resistance. It also comes with MIL-STD-810G certification for ruggedness. The phone packs in a huge 6,600mAh battery.
The MediaTek Helio P90 SoC fuels the Ulefone Armor 9, while the phone packs in 8GB of RAM. The device also offers 128GB of internal storage, which is expandable.
The phone features a large display, while Android 10 comes out of the box
The Armor 9 features a 6.3-inch fullHD+ display with a waterdrop notch. Android 10 comes pre-installed on the phone, and the device includes a fingerprint scanner. It also supports facial scanning.
An NFC chip is a part of the package, while the device supports global 4G LTE bands. A 64-megapixel camera from ISOCELL is this phone’s main camera on the back.
