The downside to the current boom that tabletop gaming has been enjoying is that there are often amazing games that get overlooked. Or worse yet, crowdfunding campaigns for amazing games that aren’t even noticed until it may be too late. Somehow I didn’t see Tales of BarBEARia until after last week’s Spotlight on the dice for Pride vol 1. I knew this game was coming and I still almost missed it, thankfully there’s still some time to see this campaign happen.
I don’t think I’ve played a Greenbrier game that I didn’t enjoy, and this looks to be no exception. Players will place dice to secretly plan their strategy and use the results to build and defend their empire. Simple, yet highly strategic.
The pledge levels are equally simple, $40 (USD) gets you the game and its Candy Horde expansion. $60 adds a copy of the previous BarBEARian Battlegrounds game.
Despite Greenbrier Games’ excellent track record and this looking like an equally great game, the campaign hasn’t funded as I write this. This is very much a game to consider backing. If it doesn’t end up funding, you lose nothing. If it does fund, everyone wins and you get a the hours of fun a new game brings.

I’d lose £50, that’s a lot for this game, despite BarBEARians Battlegrounds being a hoot.
If a Kickstarter project doesn’t fund, no one has their pledges collected.(Unless you mean that you don’t feel the game is worth the cost, which is always a personal consideration. Especially for us non-Americans.
