Roll Player takes the act of creating a tabletop RPG character and turns into its own engaging board game. It uses clever dice-rolling mechanics to produce one of the most interesting character creators since City of Heroes opened its doors. Roll Player Adventures is a cooperative storytelling game for 1-4 players. One of the more intriguing twists is that you can bring in characters created in the base Roll Player game and use them in this one. Of course, Adventures is a fully standalone product, but it's a nifty addition for long-time fans.

Adventures has 12 storybooks for you and your friends to play through. It looks a lot like a choose-your-own-adventure book mixed with dice chucking. Personally, I think that sounds like a quality combination. You'll use your dice pool to try and pass various skill checks but will also have some cards that you manipulate the dice in your favor. And, at the end of each adventure, you'll have the opportunity to improve your party and character.

If you're on the lookout for a deep, story-driven board game, Roll Player Adventures seems worth a look. The game is on Kickstarter for 22 more days at the time of this writing. Giving you plenty of time to hop in and see if Adventures is the next game to grace your table.
