It’s getting down to the wire on the Marvel United Kickstarter campaign…less than 24 hours to go. As of this writing, there are over 17,500 backers and the campaign just topped $2.3 million dollars.

What’s been going on in just the one day since my last update?

Update 3/2 – 3/3

Not long after the last update went live, Doctor Strange unlocked, with the Kickstarter exclusive Baron Zemo next up for stretch goals.

Soon, Zemo also unlocked, bringing with him the next stretch goal, the highly anticipated Punisher.

Even though there was $140K between Zemo and The Punisher, that stretch goal was swiftly funded and Frank Castle came out to play. Next up for the stretch goals would be Doctor Strange’s most iconic foe, the Dread Dormammu.

At the time of this writing, Dormammu has yet to unlock, but it’s getting really close. This stretch goal will be helped in no small part by an exciting announcement by CMON: after listening to backers’ feedback, the artist went back and resculpted Spider-Man for the Enter the Spider-Verse expansion.  Here’s the new look:

What a dynamic pose!  I’m sure this change made a lot of fans happy.

The clock is ticking down rapidly, but I’m sure that CMON still has a few surprises up their sleeves. Dormammu’s going to unlock soon, and who knows what could be coming next. The Marvel Universe is huge, and there’s still plenty of great heroes and villains yet to make an appearance in the game.

This will be my last post before the Marvel United campaign funds, so if you’d like to follow the final hours of the campaign, or back the game yourself, head on over to the Marvel United Kickstarter page.

What are Kickstarter Quick Picks?

Kickstarter Quick Picks are short looks at projects currently on Kickstarter that are of interest to me, and by extension, many of our GeekDad readers. A Quick Pick is not an endorsement of the Kickstarter campaign, nor have I (as yet) received any product copies to review. If you like what you see here, go check out the campaign and decide for yourself if you’d like to back it, or wait until GeekDad has had a chance to go hands-on. As always, caveat emptor- let the buyer beware.
