Return to Dark Tower might just be the best board game Kickstarter pitches of all time. You have a remake of a cult classic board game with stunning new art. You have two of the hottest board game designers in the industry in Rob Daviau (Pandemic Legacy) and Issac Childres (Gloomhaven). Oh, and don't forget the foot tall Dark Tower "miniature" that serves as the centerpiece of the game board. It doesn't get much better than that. Which is why it is no surprise that the game has already cleared $1.6 million and easily blown past its funding goal.

Return to Dark Tower is a fantasy co-op game for up to four people. You'll work together to find a way inside the titular tower and fight against the evil forces within. Dark Tower features beautiful components that really pop on the table. This is an absolute showpiece and I would not be surprised if gamers just leave it set up on the table between games. It simply looks that cool.

Of course, there are a few things to note before you jump right in. Return to Dark Tower makes heavy use an app for gameplay, which some people don't love. Personally, I've never had a problem with one, but your mileage may vary. The game also costs a wallet-emptying $125. The components are probably worth the sticker price, but the question is if you're going to play it enough to justify the cost. At the end of the day, I'm probably not backing, but I am very glad to see this become available.

Return to Dark Tower is available now on Kickstarter. The campaign runs for 19 more days, which gives you just under three weeks to finalize your decision.
