Invaders of the Rokujouma!? Novels' Kickstarter Ends With US$165,811

Campaign reached all stretch goals

J-Novel Club's Kickstarter campaign for a physical print run of Takehaya's Invaders of the Rokujouma!? (Rokujyōma no Shinryakusha!?) light novel series ended on Thursday. The campaign raised a final amount of US$165,811 from 702 backers. The campaign reached all its stretch goals.

The Kickstarter campaign's original goal is to fund a limited run of 10 omnibus collections of volumes 1-31 (plus 7.5 and 8.5) to cover the series' main story arc. The stretch goals include two collector's boxes for those who pledge US$300 and above, digital copies of the novels' five drama CDs with digital copies of translated scripts, and physical copies of the drama CDs for those who pledge US$300 and above.

The company describes the series:

Just starting high school, Koutarou is moving out on his own to take some of the burden off of his widower father. Lucky for him, he's found a room at Corona House. It has a great landlord, it's not too far from school, and best of all, it's dirt cheap. It really is perfect... except for the strange girls that keep appearing to try and take it over! But even as room 106 turns into a battlefield, Koutarou isn't willing to give up his apartment without a good fight. The invasion begins!

J-Novel Club licensed the series in May 2017.

J-Novel Club is offering the first 22 volumes digitally for free because the company's translator for the series, Warnis, originally offered the translations for free up to the 22nd volume on a separate site. The publisher's English version is a "remastered" version of Warnis' original translation, edited by J-Novel Club editor Megan Denton.

Hobby Japan launched the series with illustrations by Poco in 2009. Takehaya published the series' 32nd volume on July 1 and will publish the 33rd volume on November 1. The novels inspired a television anime in 2014, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime series, and released it on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in 2015.
