Weaponized T-Rex is coming out with a wooden rubber band gun on performance enhancing drugs. Sure your run of the mill rubber band guns are quaint but many of them are not full auto. The few that are full auto are not handheld miniguns. Yes, they are making a wooden rubber band minigun.

Like most rubber band guns, the Rubber Band Mini Gun is also made of wood. It will come in two colors. Natural wood or black painted wood with orange painted tips.

The Minigun is powered by a 12v electric motor which is powered by 8x AA batteries. Take a look at the GIF below, you can get a clear idea of how this mini gun operates. Pulling the trigger simply rotates the barrels. Using your support hand thumb you press a push rod forward that trips the release mechanism on the barrels. So you can spin the barrels without firing the rubber bands.

The Rubber Band Minigun has twelve barrels and each barrel has a 12 shot wheel giving you 144 rounds before reloading. Reloading takes less than 5 minutes according to the creator.

I think calling this a minigun is a little misleading. It is actually similar in size to the Empty Shell XM556 Micro Gun. Just like the XM556, the Rubber Band Mini Gun is 22″ long. See the photo below.

Weaponized T-Rex had this project listed on Kickstarter and in less than one day they met their first stretch crowdfunding goal. The initial early bird backing price was $94. Shipping will be around $15-$19 to the US. They still have some availability for backers with reduced prices.

Price-wise it isn’t terrible. A simple google search and I found a wooden Gatling gun but it costs over $1,000.

The Weaponized T-Rex Rubber Band Minigun is scheduled to ship starting January next year. They have two more funding goals but for now production can start.

I hope they reach the $60k goal. The weaponized T-Rex puzzle looks hilarious.

I am looking forward to this as I personally backed a wood kit, prior to receiving the press release. I hope I can increase the voltage and make the minigun spin faster resulting in a higher rate of fire.
