Critically acclaimed chef Iliana Regan closed Bunny, her bakery within a restaurant, suddenly Thursday. Regan also announced Japanese-inspired Kitsune, the restaurant and pub which was home to the bakery in the North Center neighborhood, will follow next month.

“Thank you for all of your love and support the last couple of years from visiting us to supporting our ramen kits, classes, Kickstarter and everything else in between,” said a statement posted on the restaurant’s website and social media accounts. “On July 13th we will close the doors to Kitsune.”

Kitsune, which opened in 2017, earned a three-star review from Tribune restaurant critic Phil Vettel and was named best new restaurant by a number of media outlets, including Chicago magazine. Also, Regan had just relaunched Bunny Bakery & Workshop in May.

Regan’s award-winning fine dining and foraged focused restaurant Elizabeth in Lincoln Squareand new Milkweed Inn in rural Michigan will remain open.
