Pre-Orders Now Available for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Update: We've learned of some new details on the game's upcoming free updates as well as the decision to make previously-exclusive Kickstarter awards available for purchase by anybody as a paid DLC. The latest information has been added below.

505 Games announced today that Koji Igarashi’s highly anticipated Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is now available for pre-order. Along with the news came another short trailer to highlight the announcement and show off a little more of the “Igavania” style game, which releases on June 18th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam and GOG) and on June 25th for Nintendo Switch.

For a limited time, anybody who pre-orders the PC version of the game will receive a 10% discount off the regular retail price of $39.99. This currently applies to both Steam and GOG. Additionally, that discount will also soon be available for the PlayStation 4 version, provided you order digitally and are a PlayStation Plus subscriber, and includes a special dynamic theme either way. No pre-order bonuses are available on other platforms at this time.

If you enjoy collecting physical copies of games, like myself, 505 Games is also teaming up with Best Buy on an exclusive physical release, which will be available for pre-order at retail locations only and comes packaged in a collector’s Novobox futurepak. This exclusive will be limited to the console versions of the game (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch) with no such release being made available for PC. For a standard physical copy of the game, you can pre-order now on Amazon.

Finally, we have some additional news from the game's latest Kickstarter update, which details the studio's plans for getting bonus content into the hands of players. For starters, all stretch goal content will be arriving as a future free content update for all players who own the game. The list of additional content on the way is as follows:

In addition, it looks like the Kickstarter exclusives will also be made available as a small, paid DLC, which will release on the same date as the game for each respective platform. Players who purchase "Iga’s Back Pack" for $9.99 will be granted access to a bonus battle against Igarashi himself, who drops the powerful Swordwhip weapon when defeated. 505 Games global brand manager Roberto Piraino offered the following explanation for the shift.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is set in 18th century England, where a paranormal force has summoned a demon-infested castle, revealing crystal shards infused with tremendous magical power. Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist curse which slowly crystallizes her body, must fight through the castle to save humanity and herself by defeating the denizens of hell that await within along with the summoner behind the mayhem, Gabel.

The title will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam and GOG) on June 18th, 2019, with the Nintendo Switch version debuting a week later on June 25th.
