Last month, the new sci-fi board game Simulation Theory was announced. It is a 1-5 player board game centred around the idea that the world around you may not be real but rather a simulation and that once you leave the simulation you may just end up being in another simulation. The goal of the game is to compete with other players to see who can escape the entire setup.

In a previous article, we mentioned that the game was going to launch on Kickstarter at the beginning of August 2018, well that time is now, and the Kickstarter for Simulation Theory has officially launched offering several different rewards for those willing to donate a little more to have their grasp on reality tested.

The total goal of the Kickstarter is to accumulate £7,763 and will be live for 40 days. Those that pledge more can receive one of many different rewards for their contribution going from a $3 reward that will allow the pledge to download the official theme song of the game to a $299 reward that will give the extremely generous donator a collector's edition of the game. This includes an exclusive Simulation Theory hoodie and play mat plus sleeves for all the cards.

The Kickstarter also includes a variety of stretch goals in case people just can’t get enough of the potential game. These will include an adventure mode for more experienced players and extra playable characters and more challenge scenarios to further flesh out of the world of the game.

At the time of writing this article, the game has gained £2,959 with 68 backers which would be just over a quarter of the game’s total goal. The game looks very interesting with a lot of similarities to famous sci-fi and fantasy movies like the Matrix and Ghost in The Shell. We wish it the best of luck and hope that the developers will be able to bring the game into our reality.

For more information on Simulation Theory, check out the brief introduction of the game we wrote on the game when it was announced. If your interested in other Kickstarter projects, one you might want to consider is a new card game based on the hit indie game; The Binding of Isaac.
