Baltimore native Colin Dougherty launched his new summer shoe collection by blowing up a propane tank surrounded by old loafers.

This viral video churned up a little over 76k views, building up a following for the little loafer company from Baltimore.

Dubbed the 2017 Summer Collection, Colin released two loud and in your face designs:  The American Classics- sporting a unique American Flag across the top of the shoe and The Old Baes- showing off a bright Maryland flag across the top of the loafer.

Dougherty, now 23, worked through his academic career attending St. Joseph Cockeysville and Calvert Hall College High School, then graduating from Towson University. During his time at TU, Colin established the men’s loafer company.  Dougherty Shoes began with an idea and a plan and has grown faster than anticipated, entering a new phase of growth…and they want YOU to be a part.

Colin redesigned the loafer insoles to feature 100% silk from Gladson, a renowned silk manufacture located in the heart of 5th avenue in NYC, stating the new insoles “add unmeasurable comfort and give men the ultimate confidence as they take on their day”. The silk insoles follow the same hidden style values as custom suit linings, messages hidden under jacket lapels, and subtle leather engraving on laptop bags. The wearer feels a more personal connection to the item because it is unique, it’s theirs and only they know the features hidden inside.

Dougherty initiated a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the redesign and is excited to have the Baltimore community be a part of the expansion. The Kickstarter provides several levels of engagement that include the newly designed shoes with three insole options; Blue Paisley, White/Navy Polkadot, and The Bull and Bear.

The Kickstarter is live here and with 9 days left, he’s already 50+% of the way to his goal of $10,000. Grab your pair and help support local Baltimore Business! For more information about Colin Dougherty and Dougherty Shoes, visit doughertyshoes.com.
