Remember those scenes in the Iron Man movies were when Tony Stark would mess around with his holograms as if he were physically touching them? We may be approaching that tech soon, because the folks behind MAD Gaze, a Kickstarter project with just eight days to go, want to make your smart devices and computer experience into something straight out of the movies.

MAD Gaze is a pair of AR smart glasses that look to be your own personal computer. According to the campaign page, they will provide a holographic user interface that isn't unlike your traditional smartphone. You can swipe around and use apps in thin air and have the entire internet literally at your fingertips.

The AR glasses should be able to pair with both Android and iOS devices to make your smartphone pop off the screen so you you'll be able to answer calls and send messages just by poking around. The MAD Gaze will also be able to pair with wireless keyboards so you can type documents, emails, and messages.

According to MAD Gaze CEO Jordan Cheng, the team was inspired by the lack of success that 2013's Google Glass saw in trying to release a similar product and began development within the same year.

"People were unfamiliar with AR back then and it was just a gimmick to them," Cheng said. "It made our team think how true AR smart glasses should be like and in what scenarios AR smart glasses solutions can be applied. MAD Gaze then aims and has determined to create the first leading AR smart glasses truly for consumers."

MAD Gaze is currently developing apps on its MAD Store that will be compatible with the glasses, including apps for entertainment, fitness, and social networks.

Check out the MAD Gaze Kickstarter page to learn more and drop a pledge — $649 AU (about $492 USD) will get you the glasses and a portable keyboard, with the product estimated to ship out in April 2018.
