When it comes to localizing Japanese visual novels into English, few names are as instantly recognizable as Sekai Project. Well, they’re back on Kickstarter with another project. This time they’re porting over A Clockwork Ley-Line, an interesting visual novel from Japan. However, from what I can tell the translation is already done. This campaign is purely to get physical copies printed.

A Clockwork Ley-Line

That said, while physical discs are the main focus at $135 and up there’s more to offer. If you just want digital copies, you can snag the full trilogy of A Clockwork Ley-Line. The only downside is that it’ll cost you a pretty hefty $60 minimum to get it all. Honestly, that’s the only thing that’s really keeping me from diving headfirst into backing this one. Otherwise, it looks like a great game.

A Clockwork Ley-Line is the story of a school that has both night and day classes, but there’s a big secret that only a few people know about. I won’t go into any real detail as you can read it for yourself, but the premise is certainly interesting. And true to form for most Japanese stories that I’ve seen, both in visual novel and anime format.

A Clockwork Ley-Line

Sekai Project has worked on a lot of visual novels in the past several years, many funded through sites like Kickstarter. I’ve lost count of how many there are, and how many are still being worked on. That said, A Clockwork Ley-Line does look to live up to the high quality standards they’re known for. Also, in just a day or two it’s reached the funding goal. So, there’s obviously a huge audience for their work.

While I’ll most likely pass due to the high entry fee, I do look forward to seeing this one released.
