Retro shoot ’em up game Hyper Sentinel funding campaign launches on Kickstarter
Hyper Sentinel is inspired by 1980s classics Uridium and Paradroid
GAMERS are buzzing about a new arcade game based on the shoot 'em ups of the 1980s.
Hundreds have pledged money to back Hyper Sentinel, which began trending on Twitter on Wednesday.
Described as "a blistering side-scrolling shoot 'em up" on its Kickstarter page, the game is from the brains behind Uridium, Paradroid and Nebulus, Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies.
It comes with an authentic soundtrack and retro design in high definition.
The aim of the game is for the Sentinel Fighter to destroy all the Alienoids and reach the Hyper Sentinel high score hall of fame.
The Manchester-based developers are looking for £15,000 in funding by March 17.
If they don't reach the entire amount, all donations will be returned to the backers.
Since opening for backing this morning it's already reached a third of its goal.
The money will be spent getting the game ready for launch on Steam, PS4, Xbox One, iOS and Android.
