Creators of Kickstarter Funded “Bears vs Babies” Announce Free Playtest Contest

Just a few months after securing $3,215,679 through its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, creators of the anticipated Bears vs. Babies, Elan Lee and Matthew Inman, announced they have created a free playtest and are now seeking volunteers for the test.

bears-vs-babies-1Playing the game is strategic and with one goal, to create monsters that destroy babies. Players sit in a circle and draw cards. Each player picks two types of cards (bears and babies). Bears are to built and will include heads, torsos, arms, and legs. Babies are played immediately into the center of the table. They will form a baby army, which must be stopped by all players in the game. Players will go to war by provoking babies. If the monster is stronger than the babies, they will win that battle and eat those babies. If babies are strong than creatures, they will win, and your army will be devoured.

While sharing details about the playtest, Lee and Inman’s team stated:

“We’re looking for people to host playtest parties! Help us get the game in the hands of playtesters so they can tell us what works and what doesn’t, what’s terrible and what’s amazing, or even how they managed to break it. We’ll send you everything you need, including free playtest decks and instructions. We’ll also promote the event on our site.”

bears-vs-babiesTo participate and be selected, volunteers must create a video explaining why they want to host a Bears vs. Babies Playtesting party and why the Bears vs. Babies team should consider them. Entries must be posted on Twitter or Facebook using the hashtag #PickMeBvB. Each video must be 60 seconds of less, and the playtest parties must occur between February 13th and February 26th. Video and post description must include the location, date, and duration of the playtest with playtest location being open to the public. Submission deadline is January 20th.
