Logline: Millie and Emma are sisters with a rocky relationship who are each stuck in their ways, and bring out the best – and worst – in each other. When Emma helps Millie run out on her wedding, they embark on an adventure neither could have anticipated.
Elevator Pitch:
“Different Flowers” is a girl-powered ode to the Heartland, full of kooky characters, honesty, and heart. It’s inspired by the relationships and surroundings of Morgan’s adolescence in Kansas City, Missouri. It’s part comedy of errors, part family drama, part road trip movie. Featuring two strong female protagonists and a host of other colorful characters, at its core the story is about following your heart and learning to grow up. It’s also a love letter to the heartland. The hot Missouri summer is a silent third character, creating trouble and opportunity with its open roads and sometimes too-intimate town life.

About the Film:
I grew up in Kansas City and spent summers on my grandparents’ farm in Moberly, Missouri. When I got a full scholarship to the USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, I left my hometown to pursue my dream of directing in Los Angeles. I’ve had shorts play in festivals worldwide, and have been lucky enough to help some big blockbuster movies get made. But I was still yearning to tell a story that drew on my own experiences, and I knew the Midwest was the perfect backdrop, with a relationship of two very different sisters at the center.
