Ossic X Exceeds Oculus Rift In Kickstarter Support, Now Available For Preorder

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, Ossic announced that its Ossic X headphones are now available for preorder.

The Kickstarter campaign originally began with a modest goal of $100,000. By the time we were invited out to New York City to try out the Ossic X, the fundraising effort substantially exceeded that original target. As of this writing, the Kickstarter page sits at over $2.6 million dollars (with a few hours left to go)., According to Ossic, that makes the Ossic X the most successful Kickstarter campaign for a VR product to date, exceeding the Oculus Rift’s $2.5 million record.

As a follow-up to the campaign and the seemingly overwhelming support, Ossic announced that the VR headset is now available for preorder at a price of $299. This is only $50 more than the Kickstarter buy-in rate, and still $100 cheaper than Ossic’s originally projected retail price of $399. The company also launched a referral program, giving customers that preorder the Ossic X an additional $20 off by referring a friend.

You can preorder the Ossic X headphones now at the company’s website.

So great to hear this. The outpouring support for all things VR can only stand to solidify it's place in the minds of the people interesting in developing more for the medium.
