ComfyLight’s Intruder-Repelling LED Lights Achieve Kickstarter Goal in Less Than 7 Hours

ComfyLight AG today announced that it met its Kickstarter goal in less than 7 hours for its smart light bulb that actively protects your home from intruders. The campaign at www.comfylight.com/kickstarter began on January 22nd, 2016, and has nearly doubled its goal already. With three weeks left in the campaign, ComfyLight continues to recruit early backers, to further finance the development of an API.

The Kickstarter campaign aimed to raise 50,000 USD from backers to put ComfyLight into production. After flying past that goal, the company is working towards its first stretch goal. If ComfyLight raises 150,000 USD it will provide a stable and well-documented API to enable integration with other devices, like smart doorbells or, for instance, Philips Hue. This will trigger the development of additional applications and further enhance the existing functionality.

"We are thrilled and honored by the support for the ComfyLight," said Stefanie Tuber, CEO and Cofounder of ComfyLight. "We knew there would be supporters for this innovative product that conveniently protects people's homes, but we were proud that we could reach our goal in only a few hours. We can't wait to start reaching for those stretch goals to add more useful features." (GEHEN)

The ComfyLight LED bulb makes burglars believe you are home when you are not. ComfyLight is the first LED bulb that learns how you and your family move around your home and automatically simulates this behavior when you are out – without requiring complicated programming of timers and settings. With ComfyLight, it always looks like someone is at home from the outside, which makes you a less attractive target for intruders. Of course, the ComfyLight app lets you stay in touch with what is happening in your home while you are out. Whenever ComfyLight detects unexpected motion in a room, it will send you a notification and starts flashing to warn neighbors. When you are at home, ComfyLight offers convenience through automatic lighting: switching the soft white LED light on and off as you walk in and out of a room. You never have to flip the light switch again.

Easy to use
The ComfyLight LED lamp is extremely easy to operate, as the tiny, sophisticated technology is all inside the bulb. Simply replace as many bulbs as you like in your home with ComfyLight, download the app and connect the ComfyLights to your smartphone. ComfyLight is then ready for use.

Use with confidence
The ComfyLight app shows you who is at home at any time, but privacy is also a priority, and respected. The app displays an icon for each person, so no photos or video footage. The data is held on servers in Germany, which are certified to handle highly sensitive data.

ComfyLight has received numerous awards since 2014, most recently winning the CES Innovation Award. After three years of research and development, the product is now ready to enter the market. Thanks to the Kickstarter campaign, ComfyLight can now go into production.
