Gamelyn Games will release Scott Almes’ fourth Tiny Epic game in late October: Tiny Epic Western.

Like the other games in the series, Tiny Epic Western aims to offer a complete strategy game in a very small pocket-sized box, measuring only 7” by 4.75”.  In this worker-placement style game, each player is a “boss” in control of their own “posse” trying to take over a frontier town.  Posse members are sent into town to play poker, expand the boss’ influence, acquire buildings, or push their luck with a “double down” action.  When players send their posse to a location, they then play a 3-card version of poker to resolve the actions there.

Tiny Epic Western will include 12 wooden cowboy meeples, 1 poker chip, 2 custom bullet-shaped dice, 15 wooden tokens, 1 “Wanted” card, 20 poker cards, 30 building cards, 4 double-sided Boss cards, and 6 location cards.  The game is designed for 2 to 4 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in about half an hour.  MSRP is $25.00.

Like earlier Tiny Epic games, Gamelyn is funding this project through a Kickstarter campaign, which has already collected over a quarter million in pledged support with 17 days remaining.  The Kickstarter does not have a specific “retailer” package, but it does include a funding level for 10 copies at a discounted price.

Last October, Almes’ previous Tiny Epic game, Tiny Epic Galaxies, entered trade distribution through Game Salute (see “‘Tiny Epic Galaxies’ Comes to Trade”).
