Northype to Launch All-in-One 3D Printer Adam on Kickstarter – Update

Northype unveils their all-in-one machine, combining a 3D printer, laser cutter and engraver along with a 3D scanner in a single device.

September 16, 2015: The systems works with interchangeable modules, that can be attached to a fixed carriage. Its tool platform will be open source, so everyone will be able to attach their own customised tool head.

adam_3d_printer_all-in-oneAdam’s 3D printer module features a 0.4 mm nozzle capable of printing objects up to a size of 16.5 x 16.5 x 27.5 cm using 1.75 mm filaments. Equipped with a heated build plate, the device will be able to process various types of materials, from PLA and ABS to special filaments such as carbon, nylon or wood. For their Kickstarter campaign to be launched soon, Northype also teamed up with Italian company treeDfilaments and will include a 500 g spool of their filaments for backers.

The laser module can cut paper, cardboard, plywood, polystyrene, MDF and leather. For their integrated 3D scanner module, Northype has not yet released any details on the technology used.

October 7, 2015: Update – Kickstarter Launch & Adam+

Yesterday Northype has launched their campaign on Kickstarter, not only promoting the all-in-one machine Adam but also Adam+, featuring a bigger build volume of 30 x 30 x 47 cm.

Pledges for early backers start as low as € 899 for Adam and € 1,400 for Adam+.
