There are many audiophiles out there who strongly believe that wired speakers are better in audio quality compared to wireless. This is because they believe that due to the streaming through the air, some of its quality is lost along the way. That being said if you don’t think you can tell the difference but love the convenience of wireless streaming, the auris bluMe might be of interest to you.

The device, which you can see for yourself in the video above, is basically at its heart a Bluetooth receiver. However it will play nicely by connecting to your regular wired speakers and turn it into a wireless set of speakers. This means that if you have a pretty nice system setup that you want to go wireless, this little device should do the trick.

According to its creators, they have decided to go with AKM’s AK4396 DAC which they claim is a “true 192kHz 24-bit upsampling DAC sporting a high SNR of 120dB and is well regarded for its impressive low noise and low distortion characteristics. in short, this means that the sound you hear is crystal clear, rich and retains a wonderfully full dynamic range.” Whether or not it lives up to its claims remains to be seen.

The auris bluMe will also feature an extended range of up to 100 feet, meaning that if you were worried about the relatively short range of Bluetooth then this should not be an issue for you. The device is priced at $119 for the early bird special, so if you’d like to get in on this, you can hit up its Kickstarter to pledge your support.
