Sarah Huffine’s Thriller Pinhole Needs a Little Kickstarter Cash

Like most independent filmmakers around the world, director Sarah Huffine is a little short on cash for her upcoming project Pinhole. But don’t think for a second that she intends to spend all of her money on expensive and unnecessary computer-generated effects. Instead, Huffine and company intend to shoot their flick on Super 16mm using a lot of practical FX. In other words, the filmmaker seems to understand that horror fans are becoming increasingly bored with CGI blood and guts.

According to producer Tanner Pemelton, the production needs a modest $5,000 to help out with “processing and film stock fees.” If everything goes according to plan and the money falls into place, Huffine and company hope to begin filming Pinhole in Orlando later this year.

Here’s how Pemelton describes the project.

Pinhole is a psychological thriller that asks the question, what if we could feel from the outside in? A film in the similar vein of Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan. The story follows Maddie, a rebellious punk rocker, who lives with her brother and alcoholic father. One day a gaping wound appears right below her bra line and begins to grow larger and larger.

If you like to give Huffine, Pemelton, and the cast and crew of Pinhole some of your hard-earned cash, then swing by the film’s official Kickstarter campaign page. There’s also a pitch video that will give you an idea of what these seemingly cool individuals hope to achieve with their project.
