[dropcap size=big]E[/dropcap]very week we take a brief look at all of the Kickstarter video game campaigns that launched in the previous week.  This isn’t to say that all of these projects are worth your hard earned cash, but with any luck having all of them in one place will make it easier to educate yourself on the projects you’d like to back, and which ones to run from.  You’ll find two types of campaigns listed, “featured” and “the rest“.  Featured campaigns are those that contain a significant amount of game information, are from known developers, or are significant in some other way.  The rest of the games are usually smaller campaigns that are lacking in information, are from unknowns, have unanswered questions, or have not yet stood out for one reason or another.

Featured Campaigns :

shenmue3logoGame : Shenmue 3

What it is : Marcus wrote: “The 2015 Sony E3 press conference is one that is set to go down in gaming history. Not only did they announce The Last Guardian is finally coming, but they also shared the long-desired Final Fantasy VII remake. But, this? It’s something on a huge level for both Sony fans as well as Sega fans. After a host of other massive announcements,Shenmue 3 was revealed as coming to Kickstarter tonight. The campaign in fact launched as they revealed, and is already on track to receive ridiculous amounts of funding. After all, what better way to share news of a campaign then do it on stage at E3?

Legends of Fire & SteelGame : Legends of Fire & Steel

What it is : Serena wrote: “Here’s the basic synopsis of the story behind Legends of Fire & Steel. There are three factions and they’re out for control of as much territory as they can while trying to knock their opponents off of the world map. You have the traditional humans, arrogant bastards who meddled with the forces of nature one too many times. You have the fey, the magical creatures that once dominated the land and gave the humans the means to advance technologically. And you have the Forsa…um, I mean Revenants, the undead creations risen to serve humanity by dark magicks and are now rebelling against their masters.

Keep an eye on it in our calendar

Echo TokyoGame : Echo Tokyo

What it is : Serena wrote: “For those who don’t know what Echo Tokyo is, it’s a Cyberpunk theme visual novel where you play as two protagonists. Shizume Misaki is a detective in the city known as “Echo Tokyo” and her story revolves around…you guessed it. Detective work. The other character that you’ll play as is Keiji. Little is known about this guy. Even the pitch says he has a “mysterious past”, which can unravel as the game goes on.

The Rest of the Campaigns :

The Nascent: An Anecdote of Aetherholme :  A platformer RPG with a funding goal that’s a bit much.

Luckless Seven : An RPG card game with combat inspired by Pazaak (a Wookie card game in case you’re curious).

Eimear Noone Presents “Songs of Zelda: A Link to the Celts” : A Celtic interpretation of various Zelda songs.

Life After : A side scrolling RPG adventure with some very hand-drawn artwork.

Project CATS : A mish-mash of games infused with cats.

Memory Master Pro : Ever wanted to learn how to memorize more than one deck of cards? Here’s your chance!

12 Stars Of Light : Although this campaign has a ton to share, I’m still a little confused about what type of game it is.  An RPG is my best guess.

JapaneseQuest : Another language learning game.

Iconic Encounter : A multiplayer fighting game.

UNVEILED : For such a slick campaign there’s remarkably little to go on.  The gameplay trailers show moving images, but don’t show people playing.

Raze Runner : While the $800 funding goal is certainly low, there’s nothing to go on here.

DotCity : A really interesting city builder concept, but it might be a bit too high-brow for it’s own good.

Just Another Marble Game : The title says it all.

Dark Stars : A scrolling shooter with no shooting.  Interesting!

Hiddyn Exordium : A first person puzzler with some potential.

Nomad Quest : A Zelda inspired action adventure with a demo you can download now.

Deliverance : A horror game that does not feature Burt Reynolds.

Hidden Agenda : A strategy game with nothing to show.

Alpha;Project Earth : $100,000 so this guy can quit his job to write a series of books and turn then into a game.

Eon’s Chronicles : I never want to openly mock any game, even the non-featured ones, but this one is definitely not worth $150,000.

Gamesdale : $50,000 to make a launcher for emulators that other people have made.

That’s it for last week’s Kickstarter video game campaigns.  Watch your wallets!
