The development team at Himalaya Studios, which has previously created free remakes of classic Sierra adventure game, is launching a Kickstarter effort for an original title called Mage’s Initiation, a combination of old-school adventure and role-playing game mechanics.

The developers explain the core of the game by saying, “Journey through the medieval-styled realm of Iginor. Brave a goblin-infested forest. Navigate a vast lake to encounter an evil so pure, not even beauty can disguise it. Ascend to the peaks of Flyteria, a valley of winged warriors once dedicated to protection of the human town.”

The protagonist is sixteen-year-old D’arc, who needs to complete three tasks in order to prove himself to his mage teachers.

The game has only been on Kickstarter for one day and it has already obtained almost half of the resources it needs from fans, with the overall goal set for 65,000 dollars (48,000 Euro).
