'Exploding Kittens' May Exceed 'OUYA' As Most Funded Kickstarter Game Campaign Ever

With only 5 hours left in their Kickstarter Campaign, the 'Exploding Kittens' playing card game has massively exceeded it's goal, and may become the most funded Kickstarter game campaign in the crowd-funding platform's history.
The game was written by Matthew Inman, creator of The Oatmeal, and game makers Elan Lee and Shane Small.
As of writing, "Exploding Kittens" has garnered $8,265,702, and is climbing in its final minutes. The goal was $10,000.
"Exploding Kittens" has raised a total of 82,316 percent of their goal. According to the official Kickstarter page, "this is a card game for people who are into kittens and explosions and laser beams and sometimes goats." It has over 200,000 backers.
The game is obviously awesome, and quite simple. You play by putting the deck face down in the center of the group, and everyone takes turns pulling cards until someone draws the "exploding kitten" card. Then that person explodes, and is out of the game, unless he or she holds a "defuse" card. Defuse cards come in various forms, such as "via laser pointer", "kitten therapy", and "catnip sandwiches".
The rest of the deck is built of various action cards aimed to avoid the kittens, such as skipping your turn by wearing a portable cheetah butt. A portable. Cheetah. Butt. Portablecheetahbutt.
The main game is kid-friendly (ages 7+), but there is also a NSFW version.
People who pledge $20 or more can get their hands on a deck, and due to the immense success, the game has been built to accommodate 5 players. They also threw pizza partiers for over 50 cat shelters around the country.
The most successfully funded campaign on Kickstarter is OUYA: A New Kind of Video Game Console, which acquired a total of $8,596,474 toward their goal of $950,000. It was 904% funded in August, 2012.
