Every week we take a brief look at all of the Kickstarter video game campaigns that launched in the previous week.  This isn’t to say that all of these projects are worth your hard earned cash, but with any luck having all of them in one place will make it easier to educate yourself on the projects you’d like to back, and which ones to run from.  You’ll find two types of campaigns listed, “featured” and “the rest“.  Featured campaigns are those that contain a significant amount of game information, are from known developers, or are significant in some other way.  The rest of the games are usually smaller campaigns that are lacking in information, are from unknowns, have unanswered questions, or have not yet stood out for one reason or another.

Featured Campaigns :

Chris Huelsbeck - The Piano Collection & Limited Score BookGame : Chris Huelsbeck – The Piano Collection & Limited Score Book

What it is : Marcus wrote: “If you grew up playing on the Commodore 64 or Amiga then chances are you are a big fan of Chris Huelsbeck music. Over the years, this fellow scored soundtracks for many of the best known games such as The Great Giana Sisters, Turrican, and others. His music is iconic and remains completely listenable today on those now retro PCs. Over the years both Chris and enthusiasts have recreated the soundtracks in a variety of ways. Now, Chris Huelsbeck has returned to Kickstarter to fund The Piano Collection (and a limited score book).”

Kriophobia is a Resident Evil style survival horror game on Kickstarter.Game : Kriophobia

What it is : Marcus wrote: “Kriophobia follows the story of protagonist Anna. She and her geologist crew were sent to Zhokhov Island in order to fix and monitor sesimic activity there. It wasn’t meant to be a long trip… Of course, things go completely wrong and they get trapped in a military complex. Anna must explore in the dark and cold to hopefully find a way out for her teammates. Gameplay follows the point and click adventure style meaning there will be many puzzles to solve along the way.”

The Rest of the Campaigns :

Forsaken Space : A re-launch of a campaign from a couple weeks ago; with more info, but fewer images.

Red Gold : A top-down tower defense game with a campaign that features a gameplay heavy funding video.

Haven’s story: Timeres Otium : A horror game (I think), with gameplay footage so dark it’s almost impossible to see what’s happening.

Live Your Life : Stock photo cover images and two sentences of description. Did I mention the $130k+ in funding being requested?

MUFFIN – The Resistance : I really resist being a jerk when writing these secondary campaign entries; but $80k for this?

It’s The GOD Complex : It’s a little tough to tell what’s going on here, I was distracted by the $370k+ funding goal.

Dog Business : A point and click adventure game with no screenshots or artwork.

Forsaken City : A first person horror game with a test level available for download.

OZ The Return : More adventures in IP violations, this time the lucky property is HBO’s OZ.

Scraps – Story of a Dog : A puzzle adventure game with some great looking artwork, but no screenshots yet.

Risky Waters : A chaotic and cute looking action game for Android.

Selatria : An old-school top-down RPG game; lots of info, screenshots, and gameplay footage here.

A 2D SideScroller RPG Made by YOU : A 2D side scroller RPG… obviously.

Zombie Office : A cool looking 2D RPG game with a great concept.

Rogue Legend 2 : A sequel to the popular Rogue Legend, with lots of improvements promised.

Etaraa : A space themed platformer with some pretty basic graphics.

The Basement : A survival horror game set in your basement; great concept!

999:Brit Cops : A police sim with very little info, and no game material, available.

Spectrum : A puzzle platformer with some unique gameplay elements that could make it interesting.
