Video Games Live creator teams with trance musician BT for new symphonic concert

The man who popularized video game concerts is teaming up with the man who helped popularized electronic dance music to create something new.

Tommy Tallarico, creator of Video Games Live, is teaming up with Brian "BT" Transeau, recording artist, film composer and trance pioneer, to put together a concert of BT's signature hits rearranged and re-mixed with a full orchestra.

If funded through Kickstarter, the Electronic Opus album arrives on March 29. The live concert will be on the same day at Miami's Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts during the Miami Winter Music Conference.

The concert will feature BT accompanied by a 42-piece orchestra along with synchronized HD footage, lighting and special effects. The experience sounds a lot like the Video Games Live shows created by Tallarico, which turn classic game music into an experience backed by video footage and a live orchestra.

The Electronic Opus kickstarter is seeking $200,000 to fund the album recording with a full orchestra. Pledges, which run from $10 to $10,000, include some crazy rewards, like shark diving with BT and having the musician write a song for you.
