Epic Manager: Create your own Adventuring Agency! by ManaVoid Entertainment

I guess that with the amount of loot that the average party of adventuring heroes score from killing evil beasts it was only a matter of time before an agent got involved. Saving the world is a lucrative career, which is why you see so many heroes roaming the countryside in role playing games and killing everything that moves. Thanks to ManaVoid Entertainment, players will soon be able to get themselves a nice cut of all this profit, all from the comfort of their cozy agency headquarters.

The developers are currently hard at work on their fantasy, role playing, tycoon title, Epic Manager. The game will hand you the reigns of your own adventuring agency where you will (hopefully) build up a roster of world saving heroes. The game promises to be an epic, yet lighthearted take on the whole fantasy genre and will also contain plenty of Easter eggs, jokes and gaming references to keep fans engaged.

The game is currently doing the rounds on Kickstarter with a goal of $30,000 and at the time of writing is doing quite well for itself. It’s no surprise either as the developers are promising some rather nifty gameplay elements. With hundreds of random encounters, quests and events it sounds like the game will be able to offer something different for each playthrough. With more than 100 different locations, including villages, swamps, cities, caverns, valleys, plains, deserts and more to explore, your heroes will certainly have their work cut out for them. Each location comes with a random encounter wheel which spins to select what happens. You are then given multiple choices for your reaction which adds a Choose Your Own Adventure/Fighting Fantasy element to the game. Even better, some choices or access to information will only be accessible if you have specific classes, traits or skills in your party.

Players who enjoy roster management and character progression should have a blast with Epic Manager, but overall it sounds like it will have something for everyone. Sending out scouts to find adventurers worth recruiting and then negotiating things such as salaries, loot percentages, contract length and signing bonuses sounds like it has the potential to be quite addictive. The fact that you can combine all kinds of character classes in order to build adventuring parties is also a promising feature. Furthermore,  you will be competing against rival agencies which will certainly ad an interesting spin to the game.

ManaVoid Entertainment is aiming to release the Beta version of the Epic Manager in August of 2015 and the final version in December 2015. The game is already receiving support from other indie developers, with Yacht Club Games allowing their iconic Shovel Knight to feature as a playable character class.
