The Death to Spies PC series began in 2007. Two years later, the stealth game saw a sequel with Death to Spies: Moment of Truth. For a while it seemed that was the end as years passed without a new entry. Death to Spies 3 has finally shown up as a Kickstarter project. You play as Semion Strogov, a Soviet agent, who infiltrates and completes his tasks by any means necessary. Of course, it’s best to approach everything from a stealth perspective or you likely won’t last long.

So far it looks like Death to Spies 3 is improving upon its initial foundation. Levels are still open-ended for multiple approaches, but tasks can now be accomplished in a variety of ways as well. Some examples for taking out targets were shown as poisoning their drink and pushing them off a flight of stairs. Players are also able to steal uniforms in order to infiltrate areas. Both of these features feel like nods to the Hitman series, so if you enjoy those games it’s probably worth looking into this one as well. Another new feature is the ability to play as one of three characters on select levels. These other characters, Olga and Viktor, have specialties. For example, Olga is a master of social engineering and a thief while Viktor is your resident sniper/explosions expert.

Death to Spies 3 is already a fully playable game. So what do Haggard Games need to fund? NPC animations, custscenes, audio recording, various gameplay scripting, and the like still require attention.  As with the rest of the series, Death to Spies 3 is a PC exclusive title. You can check out the demo and see if you’d like to contribute toward the $85,000 goal.
