Update: the Kickstarter potato salad guy has raised $46k and counting

The Internet is a magical place where cats can has cheeseburgers, and total strangers will give a man $11,000 to make potato salad... in a day. But Zack Danger Brown's Kickstarter hasn't slowed down one bit since it blew up earlier this week, much to the chagrin of his many detractors. The current tally is more than $46,000... and he's still got 21 days to go.

If you can believe it, that's actually a letdown from what the newly minted Internet celebrity (14 more minutes!) posted on Wednesday. At one point, the project cleared $70,000, but the counter was reset when three large donations didn't pass Kickstarter's verification process, according to BuzzFeed. We guess that'll help with the massive tax return he would've filed otherwise, though even if Brown hits those digits again, he says he plans to give the leftover money away after his promised Potato Salad Party. To whom? It's unclear for now, but the "Potato Salad Guy Memorial Wing" sure has a nice ring to it.
