timespinner1Two man indie studio, Lunar Ray Games, comes to Kickstarter with a heartbreaking story of war, murder, and a thirst for revenge destined to stir up Metroid lovers’ nostalgia and give players a pixelated adventure to really talk about. This project is Timespinner.

Timespinner is the platformer Metroidvania game inspired by a multitude of classic SNES and Playstation (1) games that game lover and gaming industry professional Bodie Lee has been tenaciously developing in his spare time aside from his full time gaming projects with major companies like Microsoft and Bungie. What started as a school project expanded into a beautiful and elaborate universe within the gorgeous hold of the classic pixel style.

Earlier this year, Lee left his day job to work full time on Timespinner and without the financial assistance from Kickstarter by July 25th for living expenses and paying the musical staff, Timespinner’s release date will be pushed back significantly. So far, the campaign’s reception has been booming with over $25K of the $50K needed already raised. Given the funding rate, we’re going to see Timespinner expand even more. Maybe even additional consoles beyond the originally planned PC, Mac, and Linux releases will come.

Timespinner is about a powerful little lady that is a force to be reckoned with. Lunais has the ability to control time which comes in handy as she plots to travel back to historically significant events and alter them to deplete the empire’s presence since they murdered her entire family (and technically her as well). With a combination of time bending and various attacks, players engage in a remarkable journey that should make Timespinner a successful game, standing side by side with the classics.
