anima3From the people who brought the Anima book series, it’s time to turn this ornate story into a beautiful interactive experience and head for games. Cipher-Studios actually put the Anima: Gate of Memories game project on Kickstarter in January 2013 and with a combination of the Kickstarter and their own post campaign funding, they managed to raise $116,242.

anima2After over a year of development, refining the story, and putting together the environments, Cipher-Studios realized that the money raised in the first Kickstarter wasn’t going to be enough to make the game they want.  And with that, we have Anima: Gate of Memories back on Kickstarter for round two of funding.   With the money gained from this latest campaign Anima will include more locations, enemies, and scenarios; as well as improve voice acting and soundtrack.  To put together these extra pieces the team at Cipher are looking to raise £15,000 to by June 26th.

anima1In case you missed it the first time around, Anima: Gate of Memories is a third-person action RPG that Cipher-Studios will be releasing on PC, Mac, and Linux and hopefully other consoles such as PS4 and XBOX One. Anima is intended to give the players the impression of an open world where they are free to explore, rather than riding gameplay rails to the next location. Players can manipulate an interchangeable character during battle, switching between Ergo and a nameless woman referred to as The Bearer. With these characters comes a skill customization branch system for players to expand on.

Look for a lot more info on Anima: Gate of Memories as development continues.
