Amplitude's Kickstarter campaign generated more than $844k.

Backed by 14,112 fans, the rhythm action game closed with $844,127, easily clearing its $775,000 goal.

Opting for a shorter 18-day funding period, Amplitude enjoyed a late surge in donations, making over half of its total in four days.

The rhythm-action game will now go into development for PlayStation 3 and 4, with an estimated March, 2015 release date.

In Amplitude, players control a Beat Blaster ship, hitting notes in colour-coded tracks that represent the current song and capturing successive musical phrases to attain high scores.

Freezepop - who have had tracks on several of Harmonix's previous games - will feature on the soundtrack along with C418 (Minecraft), Danny Baranowsky (Super Meat Boy, Canabalt) and Jim Guthrie (Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP).
