The doorstep struggle for your keys could be a thing of the past with a new flexible light designed especially for your handbag

  • Light is flexible so can bend to fit the shape of a bag
  • Glow is admitted from LED lights which can be recharged
  • Creators have launched a Kickstart page to raise funds to start commercial production

If you've ever suffered that familiar doorstep struggle of trying to retrieve your keys from the dark depths of your handbag, either after a night out or just while simultaneously balancing the shopping -  a new invention could be the answer to your woes.

A company believe they can save precious moments spent fishing around in bags for keys and errant lipsticks - with a flexible light created especially for baggage.

Looking a little like a UV place mat, the light is bendable, meaning you can place it at the base of your handbag before filling it, lighting up the inside of your arm-candy.

The Kangaroo Light is described as 'a playful, portable, flexible light' designed to comfortably adjust and sit at the bottom of your bag.

It has 24 built-in LED lights which emit a soft glow on one side. Its Lithium-Ion battery offers 2.5 hours of continuous light and is rechargeable via USB Port.

Its creators say it provides a soft glow to help you locate items, saving time and avoiding frustration.
London-based Studio Banana Things say the device could also be used as a reading light, to create a romantic ambience, a torch or as a camping accessory.

Its thin, bendable structure means it can take almost any form, and the battery can be recharged using a USB port

The team have now launched a Kickstarter crowd-funding appeal to bring the Kangaroo Light into production.

They have so far seen £6,860 pledged of the £50,000 goal with 43 days to go.
