starcrawlers2Remember playing Eye of The Beholder?  No?  Alright you damn millennial, how about Legend of Grimlock?  Ok, good.  They’re both great games, it was great fun putting your team together and working your way through dungeons killing baddies and managing your party.  The only downside is that the environments could get a bit repetitive.  Lots of slimy brick walls of various colors, iron gates, cave walls, and so on.  Sure, some would let you go outside, but the brick walls were replaced with walls of trees and hedgerows.

The crew at Juggernaut Games is looking to take the old school dungeon crawler formula and update it with a sci-fi touch with StarCrawlers.  Instead of mages and thieves, you’ll have hackers, Void Psykers, and cyber ninjas.  Gone are the dungeons and caves, this time you’ll be exploring abandoned space ships and hostile corporate environments.  StarCrawlers features a suitably far-future look to it, complete with robots, lasers, and cybernetic enhancements.  It’s even got proceedurally generated environments, missions, and encounters to help keep things fresh, and keep those speed-runs to a minimum.

The StarCrawlers Kickstarter campaign runs until March 13th and has a funding goal of $65,000.
